Working independently, under general supervision, Facilities Control Specialists are primarily responsible for the installation, monitoring, maintenance, adjustment and repair of electric, electronic, pneumatic and digitally controlled building automation systems which manage the most complex HVAC and refrigeration systems. This position proficiently uses building automation systems to diagnose and troubleshoot problems. Incumbent will estimate cost, time and materials for projects and participate in the maintenance and operations of applicable heating and air conditioning systems and equipment either remotely or on-site. Maintain and service tools and equipment used in the performance of duties and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures and maintain a safe and clean work environment. Incumbent will maintain records and logs, retrieve data related to work performed using manual and/or computerized record-keeping systems and prepare standard reports.
In addition to the duties of a facility controls specialists, the incumbent shall provide technical leadership to other staff members including but not limited to interpretation of engineer design methodology, directing new or retrofit control projects, developing sequence of operations, programming, and commissioning. Work with management to organize long term planning to modernize campus systems within constrained budgets. Continually improve internal metering capabilities and data capturing. Expand the knowledge of the team by enabling individual success and understanding of challenging concepts. Contribute to project development at early stages to assist design team in developing elegant cost effective solutions that meet the campus goals. |
