Position Description

Position Summary

Are you passionate about fostering a positive residential community? As the Administrative Coordinator for Residential Conduct (ACRC), you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and respectful environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Residential Conduct Coordinators (RCCs) and Campus Conduct Coordinators (CCCs).
  • Review and process reports of student misconduct in accordance with Title 5, California Code of Regulations.
  • Handle all aspects of incident report management, including detailed reviews, file processing, case distribution, and student communication.
  • Generate detailed reports and analytics to ensure timely and accurate case processing.

Position Information

  • This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits-eligible, permanent/probationary position.
  • This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.
  • Standard work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Possible evening and weekend hours during special events).
  • The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.

Department Summary

The Residential Education Office strives to provide safe and supportive on-campus living-learning communities where diverse students are challenged to develop holistically; as scholars, citizens, and leaders. 

Residential Education staff members are dedicated to providing curricular and co-curricular experiences to develop and enhance residents’ academic success, awareness and appreciation of diversity, and civic responsibility.

To accomplish these objectives, Residential Education employs approximately 18 Residence Hall Coordinators, 231 paraprofessional team members, a central office staff of 18, and a variety of student assistants.

Education and Experience

Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite. 

These qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.

Key Qualifications

  • Excellent attention to detail is a must.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with students or student groups
  • Ability to independently handle multiple work projects. 
  • Proficiency in utilizing software tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, etc.
  • Knowledge of Residential Education Office and Office of Housing Administration Office programs and policies is preferred. 
  • Knowledge of student disciplinary policies, regulations, procedures, philosophies, and other programs is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $4,058 per month. 

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,058 - $6,653 per month.
