Job Summary
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the incumbent provides high level support to the Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) front office by delivering customer service, coordinating administrative support for all PTS departments, and overseeing special projects. Also supports PTS promotional activities, and directly supports the Director of PTS and Parking Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinates day-to-day support for the Parking & Transportation Services department front office. Functions as the senior staff member in customer service escalations before the issue is referred to management.
- Coordinates administrative support for Parking & Transportation Department. Responsible for a wide range of sensitive and confidential administrative tasks usually associated with student, financial, and DMV records, including frequent communication and interaction with the campus community.
- Special projects. Independently research, survey, and create reports for the department to use in its decision-making process that directly impacts campus constituents and the community. Serves as point person for various department related projects.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Proficient in customer operating systems, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Teams. Excellent interpersonal communication skills including the ability to coordinate projects and set-up meetings. Excellent written communication skills including the ability to accurately enter data. Excellent organization skills: ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities, for effective and timely completion of work assignments. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment that entails the safekeeping of confidential information. Ability to work in an environment that entails the safekeeping of confidential information. Demonstrated ability to independently and proactively research problems and recommend appropriate solutions to the Operations Manager or Director of PTS. Experience with automated systems preferred (PeopleSoft preferred).
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Education and Experience
• Equivalent to five years of administrative support experience required.
• Previous experience working at a university preferred
• BA degree preferred
Physical Summary
Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).
Licenses
Valid CA Driver's License required. Employees who are required to operate motorized vehicles and/or use their personal vehicle more than once a month on University business are required to take a mandatory Defensive Driving course and enroll in the DMV Employee Pull Notice (EPN) Program.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $4,058 - $4,326 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,058 - $6,653 per month.

Time Base
1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment
