Job Summary
The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing digital marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and drive enrollment growth for the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPaCE) at California State University, Long Beach. The incumbent leverages new technologies and trends to oversee digital campaigns, enhance website performance, automate communications through CRM platforms, and ensure consistent brand messaging. This role plays a pivotal part in building the college's online presence, promoting programs, and achieving strategic enrollment goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Digital Marketing Strategy and Campaign initiatives - Develop and implement multi-platform campaigns (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn) to increase program visibility. Create, refine, and test ad copy, visuals, and calls-to-action (CTA) to maximize engagement and conversions. Plan and execute A/B tests to determine the most effective messaging and creative strategies.
- Website Strategy and Optimization - Provide strategic direction for the development and maintenance of landing pages and program-specific pages. Collaborate with web developers and designers to enhance user experience (UX) and ensure mobile-friendly content.
- Communication Automation through CRM - Design and implement automated workflows to streamline communication with prospective students at different stages of the enrollment funnel.
- Project and Vendor Coordination - Oversee relationships with external vendors providing digital marketing services (ad agencies, SEO consultants). Ensure that vendors meet performance goals and adhere to project timelines and budgets.
- Analytics, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement - Analyze digital campaign performance and provide actionable insights to improve ROI and lead generation. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Google Analytics, Tableau, or Power BI.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Expertise in digital advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn Ads). Strong analytical and reporting skills with experience in A/B testing. Proficient in digital content management systems (e.g., Drupal, Agility). Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Experience with project management tools (Asana, Monday, or equivalent). Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Education and Experience
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of related professional or technical experience required.
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
• Five or more years of experience in managing paid digital marketing campaigns.
• Experience working with CRMs (Salesforce or equivalent).
• Marketing experience in higher education is preferred.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $5,821 - $7,780 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,842 - $8,759 per month.

Time Base
1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment
This is a temporary position for 3 years with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
