Major Duties

Under general supervision, the Lecture Capture Coordinator provides consultation, training, and technical support on instructional and multimedia technologies, collaborates with faculty on projects, supports lecture capture and video tools, develops instructional materials, and contributes to multimedia production, user support, and ongoing technology initiatives.

  • Provides user consultation, training and assistance on a variety of instructional, multi-media, and emerging technologies, inclusive of those pertinent to lecture capture.
  • Consults and interfaces with faculty regarding their projects (ex. video-conferencing classroom use, records video content for courses, produces promotional content for departments).
  • Helps faculty with instructional technologies and other associated software or hardware that aid in teaching and learning.
  • Trains users in effective use of technology with formal and informal hands-on training and development of documentation and knowledgebase content both in written, multimedia formats and integration into the LMS.
  • Serves as the primary point of faculty contact for all pre-recorded lectures, live video-conferencing lectures, and lecture capture.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, media experience or related fields.
  • Relevant education and/or experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of experience working in a higher education setting. Equivalent experience (including a minimum of six months of full-time experience in lecture capture or related AV/IT support) will be considered.
  • Experience with learning management systems, supporting educational technology, specifically lecture capture or media creation tools.
  • Experience creating graphics and multimedia content using Microsoft and Adobe software applications.

  

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities 

  • Proficiency in Canvas, Zoom and other synchronous conferencing technology.
  • Proficiency in creating user documentation and maintaining a knowledge base of technical information - both in written and multimedia formats.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Organized and with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical support skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task Innovative and willing to take initiative.

 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver, and more.
  • Classification: 0453 / Instruct Desgn/Technlogist I / Grade 1
  • The anticipated HIRING RATE is $5787 per month. The salary range for this classification is: $5787 - $8430 per month.
  • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. May include evenings and weekends.  
  • This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.  .
  • The position is currently hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
