    • Position Summary
    • Multiple temporary hourly-intermittent Bridge Student Assistant positions available in Disability Resource Services.

    • Start Date
    • Positions available on or after June 6, 2025 and ending on or before August 29, 2025. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Run optical character recognition and perform quality check on scanned images to create digitized documents.
      • Scan, crop, edit text, and edit images in large quantities.
      • Format documents, including word (.docx) and PDF (.pdf) files, to be used with assistive technology such as a screen reader or text-to-speech reader.
      • Write alternative text descriptions of images for blind and low vision users.
      • Create and edit captions for videos.
      • Assist in maintaining digital alternative media library.
      • Fulfill service tickets and engage in correspondence with students registered with the office.
      • Assist with data Entry.
      • Other duties as assigned.

       

    • Qualifications
    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Demonstrates exceptional knowledge of English grammar and spelling (please submit cover letter).
      • Demonstrates the ability to read, write, and listen with a high level of professionalism and accuracy.
      • Demonstrates ability to follow directions, learn new skills, work independently, and stay on task.
      • Demonstrates ability to think critically.
      • Demonstrates problem solving skills.
      • Demonstrates ability to write clear, concise, and coherent directions and descriptions.
      • Demonstrates familiarity with Windows operating systems and fundamental computer skills.
      • Demonstrates experience with Microsoft Office, Office 365 (particularly OneDrive), generic email programs, Adobe Acrobat, and some form of image-editing.

      Required Qualifications:
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
    • Salary Range
    • $16.50 per hour.
