Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Custodial Services and immediate supervision of the Supervising Custodian, performs custodial, janitorial, and maintenance duties in assigned areas and other related work as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains neat and clean facilities for faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Removes Trash/Recycle paper, cardboard and various materials.
- Maintains facility safety procedures and security measures.
- Positive interaction and communication of custodial activities.
- Maintains and operates vacuums, wet/dry vacuums, buffers, auto scrubbers, blowers, etc. for maintaining carpets, tile floors, and exterior areas.
- Organize custodial carts and closets.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of standard cleaning techniques and characteristics of surfaces to be cleaned. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to perform repeated bending, stooping, lifting, reaching activities. I.e. pushing/pulling fully loaded custodial carts, reaching to clean blackboards, bending and stooping to do spot cleaning, empty trash cans, etc. Good interpersonal communication skills. Excellent customer skills. Ability to get along with a diverse campus community. Ability to operate power cleaning equipment. Ability to organize work assignments and custodial closets.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,680 - $4,951 per month.
